Magnitude 5.4 Earthquake Hits The Philippines

An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 with its epicenter in the Pacific Ocean east of Cabanatuan City at 15.324oNorth, 122.434oEast on July 6, 2008 at 8:10 pm (Manila Time). The earthquake which was off-coast has been felt in several regions up to the south western part of Luzon, in the National Capital Region where the Philippines’ capital, Metro Manila is located. The earthquake was said to be felt in various regions:

  • 150 km (90 miles) North of San Pedro, Luzon, Philippines
  • 165 km (100 miles) East of Cabanatuan, Luzon, Philippines
  • 175 km (110 miles) East North-East of MANILA, Philippines
  • 205 km (125 miles) North North-West of Naga, Luzon, Philippines

45 minutes later, a Magnitude 5.1 on the Richter Scale was registered in nearly the same epicenter at 15.277oNorth, 122.475oEast, just about 5 kilometers away from the earlier 5.4 Philippine earthquake.

Although it was a coastal earthquake, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration gave no warning, watch or advisory yet in the Philippine region for the two consecutive earthquakes in the Philippine Island region.

The good news is so far there has been no damage reported in the region so far as announce on GMA News, ABS CBN News, Philippine Daily Inquirer and the Manila Bulletin. A few days back, a circulated spam email has mentioned a prophecy of a major July 18 earthquake that the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) Cheif Executive has announced to not believe the prophecy.

Rudy Fernandez - Movie Actor and Producer - Philippines dies at 56.Born March 3, 1952. Died June 7, 2008 at the age of 56 due to periampullary cancer which he had for 2 years now. Periampullary cancer is referred to malignant tumor that occurs in pancreatic head, distal common bile duct, ampulla of Vater and duodenum according to anatomical position and poor prognosio he clinical symptoms, diagnosis and treatments are identical to positional characteristics.[1]

Rudy Fernandez, nicknamed Daboy by many of his industry friends in the Filipino movie industry, is a multi-awarded Philippine movie actor and has also been a producer, that also gave public office a shot but lost for Mayor of Quezon City. Married to Pinay movie actress Lorna Tolentino who is Victoria Lorna Aluquin-Fernandez in real life continues to live a family of people in the Pinoy entertainment industry where they have 3 sons namely: Renz Marion, Raphael and their adopted son from former flame Filipina actress Alma Moreno, Mark Anthony Fernandez who is also active in the Pinoy showbiz industry.

In their first match in May 2004, Manny Paquiao Pacquiao (46-3-2) and Juan Manuel Marquez (48-4-1) resulted in a draw. Marquez was knocked down three times in round 1 was able to win the rest of the rounds that saved him from a career disaster. Some had doubts who really did better among the two fighters. Everyone wanted a rematch of this fight. Today that wish was granted!
